We took a ride up the C&W Railbed Sunday, then climbed up to the old Bulldog lookout before dropping down the the Arrow Lake and the old settlement of Renata. The weather held out all day, only had to put the rainjacket on a couple of times, and even then, it was only for 5 minutes or so.

Here is the first (of three) trestles, after having the deck covered, and handrails installed. Trail BC has taken over the C&W, and is spending a whole bunch of "our" tax dollars on maintenance and upgrades. We just hope that it will stay open to motorized vehicles so we can enjoy where "our" money went!

A quick stop at the old lookout site. For liability reasons, the government decided to blowup the cement block lookout, but didn't bother to clean up the aftermath!

Yes, there is even a mine to check out on this ride too! Copper was taken out of here, and there used to be a tramway running from it down to the valley bottom.

Gotta watch your step here, I estimated it's between 40-70' straight down, and water at the bottom!

Check out this redneck Ford! The front bumper is off a Chevy, the floors are falling out, the pass door is held closed by a sliding deadbolt, the exhaust is threaded pipe including elbows and slides inside a larger pipe for insulating it from the body! The cool thing is it has 38.5" tires!!

We hit the beach for some fun, the water level is coming up, so gotta take advantage of it while we can!

I missed the best shot of Wayne blasting through this water, Speedy was at the edge when Wayne hit the water at about 30mph, I'll just say Speedy should have kept the raincoat on a little longer!!

Had to do a trail repair just to keep air in the tire! Speedy probably doesn't want me to mention that this makes 2 rims in 2 weekends, so I won't!!! [15]
