Wifey let the clutch fluid run dry so now there is no clutch pressure.Tried countless times to bleed the line without luck. Anyone have any idea's? She's going to have to figure out a way to get to work tomorrow:(

Is it a gravity bleed system?

My toy is. I found the best way was to crack open the bleeder at the slave and wait until most of the bubbles stopped (Just make sure to keep the master topped up). Then drive it around for a bit and the rest of the bubbles work their way up the lines and out with the vibrations of the engine and road etc.

do you have a way to get the front of the truck up on about a 45 degree angle because the master points down if i recall and then try a gravity bleed or unbolt the master and disconect the clutch rod and try to get it to point upwards and try bleeding with a bottle with enough brake fluid to cover a hose that you would have atached to the bleeder of course being a two person job i know there a big pain in the ass from haveing this issue when i worked in a tranny shop

Yup with the bleeder closed just keep pumping till the pedal is good.My Grand Prix doesn't even have a bleeder.

When I crack the bleeder there is only a very slow trickle but no bubbles. I used a whole bottle to run through the line but still no clutch. I wonder if there is crap in the lines? When I open the bleeder should there be a stream of fluid comming out?

also hard to get air down, the master is higher than the slave so its hard to get the air down.if you can get your hands on a vaccuum pump it might help, other wise two people one pump, hold down and open bleeder.good luck

like jason and pumpkin and others said-ignore the bleeder screw.its just there to confuse you.NO BLEEDER SCREW.pump the pedal about 100 times,it will come up.half way through this you will want to go under the thing and crack the bleeder screw because you weren't listening before.DONT TOUCH THE FUCKING BLEEDER SCREW!carry on.if the pressure wont come up you need a new slave cylinder.

oh,ya....LEAVE THE FUCKING BLEEDER SCREW ALONE!

hope this helped.

i dont need people to get me,i just need people to get out of my way

not sure if the exploder is similar to my truck, but I thought I did the same thing and after an hour and a half of me and my buddy bleeding it and getting a pedal numerous time only for it to go away, he took off the inspection cover and there was brake fluid everywhere. slave was toast

your problem is lack of hydraulic pressure...

not air...

if u still go tno clutch then the slave is hooped and it is internal...

yuk.

Good luck Kev

obviously it is a fawked cylinder
otherwise it wouldn't have 'run out' of fluid

ever try and bleed a 85+ chev truck clutch slave?
you have to unbolt it and hold it so the bleeder points up.
what idiot would design a hydraulic system that the bleeder doesnt point up?
