has any one ever done a disc brake conversion on a 9",without buying the kit?ive heard you use certian calipers and rotors,i want to do the conversion but the kit is kind of expensive!

The disc conversion he is talking about is for the "medium" size bearing 9" rear end.
Notice that the axles are not as large diameter as the "large" bearing 9" rear end.
Probably ok if you are putting it in a BII but not recomended for a full size truck if you plan on serious off road antics :D

so what you ar etellin me is that those disk brakes womt work on a full size 9"?

anything will work the brackets will fit and caliper just have to fuck with rotor a bit.

U could modify it if u really want it to work anything is possible if u need it.

I am going to do a conversion on the fullwidth8.8 in the bII

Try older lincolns.......fulllllll size......vintage 70's....something like that.....search the "yards" and get the master too.....good luck
