Hope somebody knows this out there in jeep land does a jeep AMC 360 have the same belhousing as any dodge engines? please help as i'm looking to replace my engine it's an AMC 360 and i'd like to get something a little more common:D[27][27][27][27]

I'm pretty sure it's the exact same engine. I don't think AMC ever made a 360, but I could very easily be wrong.

amc v8 are as follows 290 304 343 360 390 and the last being a 401. All there own design and all amc v8s are a hi nickel content block !~

Which means they are strong! Which means I have to try harder to break them!

No worrys !Tha 390 and 401s came with forged rods and crank!The blocks are hard on machining equipment aswell!Oiling is an issue with higher rpm motors but easily [cheers]fixed!

ya take out the amc oiling system and use aftermarket buick parts

HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A BIGBLOCK

Theres a kit that you can do to the main bearing feed from the front of the block using a steel line to the number 5 main brg port !Costs about 15 bucks and some time but well worth it !Buzz my motor to 6000 all the time and it still lives![redneck]
