anyone have any idea why a rocker would go right out of adjustment

my guess is that you sucked in water into the one cylincer that is the rocker is loose on and it bent the pushrod a bit and that would cause your rocker out of adjustment.

hope that gives you a bit of an idea but i hope that that is not the problem

list of parts so far:
stubshaft x3
rear diff yoke x1
hub x1
intermediate shaft x1
head gaket blown x1

Do you know which # cylinder is out of adjustment?

Apparently 8 is common for it, best to get new nuts too when you readjust. i had the nut back off on me on the freeway .. wasn't happy, but i put it back on and it fired up ;)

yeah , well im back and have taken it apart and there is definatly
a problem with the #1 cyl and its the closest valve to me when looking from the front of the motor....

I talked to a friend of mine at dodge ([speach])and he said because i ran quite a bit of water through it ,the water probably got into the lifter and started to hit hard and hydrolic lifter's depend on oil to stay up....so in turn it has carnage written all over it..
So let the tear down start unless anyone has something to offer..
