discussion overheard between two jeep engineers on the tj project:

eng#1-i think 3/32s should be plenty thick enough for these suspension brackets.

eng#2-i dont know-seems a little thin.

eng#1-SHUT THE FUCK UP!YOU'RE FIRED!

In a year of production they probably save a huge wad of cash by makin it that thin instead of 1/16th thicker. Not to mention usin the shortest bolts possible, materials made in third world countries etc.

The brackets might even hold if the assembly didn't miss half the welds on every tenth rig.
If you want to wheel a TJ hard you need to cap and re-weld all the brackets on the axles.

chris... it never was off road.. strictly on road only and broke that off........ so i dont think welding will help... its probably better to replace everything on the jeep to be more safer.. since thier eng sucks!!

Best thing to do is stay as far away from a jeep as possible.[M]
