what would be a decent price on a pto winch. i have very few details on it, since its a friends of my dads at work.

what should i look for in one, and h said it was a 12 or 18000 lbs pull on it.

any help be great. it comes as a complete package minus the shaft.

is it a hydraulic pto or mechanical? the mechanical ones are huge.

My Dad used to have an 8000 or 10,000lb Ramsey PTO on his old GMC, thing would pull out anything. Only trouble is, you won't stall the motor, so something else has to give(break)! And, if you stall in water and can't restart, the winch is useless, otherwise they're awesome!

Make sure it comes with the PTO takeoff that bolts to the transfer case, they are pretty pricey.

ya, it has the pto part and the winch and all else, minus the shaft.

if i stall in water i am screwed, exhaust exits above cab (i learned already that having it below body sucks) so it should be all good, but i would like to get an electric for the front.

Most PTO winches have a shear pin in them, so when you exceed the rated capisity it will shear.

Not sure, I've never changed one. From what I've heard, you can put a stronger pin on the cruiser PTO winches, and pull more.
