View Full Version : Two Wheeling Sunday

Took the 2 wheeler out Sunday after getting it back from the dealer for a little warranty work. Five of us headed up behind my place for a chilly start in the morning, but warmed up quickly with sunny skies all day. I had a couple of close calls, still trying to remember how to ride on 2 instead of 4 wheels!

Checked out this abandoned repeater building after riding the ridge trail over. This would make an awesome snowmobile cabin!

Made it to top of Kelly Mt after almost wiping out a couple of times! I need a little more experience on those rocky hill climbs! It's way easier on the quad!

Time for lunch after making it down with a close call with a Sidekick! Actually it was more like a rub! Surprising how much damage a handlebar can do to a quarter panel and NOT put the bike in the weeds! I should have taken a pic of the dent to put in the carnage section!

Then, showed the guys one of the old workings in the area. The shaft is really deep, we counted up to 18 seconds before we couldn't hear the rocks bouncing off the walls!

anything intresting in that building that is "monitored"?

My rig is smaller than yours!!

Its pronounced EH - eye. EH as in Canadian EH, and eye as in "eye shot!!"

From what I've been told, they are weather gathering stations. I've seen several of them, usually while snowmobiling, and they are always on the tallest peak around. They have really nice solar panels on them too, hmmm, I could use a bigger one for my sled cabin!

Eheye, there isn't much left in the repeater building, as what the company didn't take down when they abandoned it, was stolen by the locals! The building would make an awesome sled/atv cabin though. It's all brick construction, wired for 110, steel doors, etc. The only downfault is it gets pretty windy up there in the winter.
