Im running a pressure and a temp gauge to a th350. I got a pretty good idea where to put the temp, but the pressure one i am not too sure of. Anyone out there got some sugestions?

There are preasure ports on the side of the trans for diagnosing. The line psi port is rearward of the accumulator. You will need a 0-300 psi gauge.

whats good psi for a trany when cold, hot, etc, if the psi gets low what does this tell you, trannys hooped, or not enough fluid psi or what?

The temp guage is a good idea, but why the pressure guage? If line pressure is too low, you'll know it! I guess if you're having drivability problems, then yah, it's a good idea, but most diagnosing can be done in the shop.

I haven't done many autos, but usually neutral is around 75psi, drive will be 75-150, reverse will be 150+. Manual 1st should be higher then drive. These are just average figures at idle. Like Pumpkin said, you'll need a guage capable of 300psi as reverse at stall speed will bump line pressure way up there.

I think so,but be carefull of the line you use, at a min psi of about 70psi you'll empty your trany in a hurry if you get a leak in the line to the gauge.
