i am thinking about starting a samuri or similar (smaller the better) for a trail rig. gonna do yota axels, 4 link, 37's, perhaps a desiel engine. possibly dual Tcase's.

well, it will have that when it is all done atleast :D

i was wondering what reccomendations (year/model) you guys would have and what things i should look out for when buying one. thanks a lot :)

look for one with minimal rust on the body as possible. You look like ur swapping everything else out so dont worry about running or not, gives you another low balling point. Just make sure it has as "minimal" rust so you dont have to cut everything out.

My rig is smaller than yours!!

if you go diesel, do your research! there is a yahoo group devoted to diesel samurais, go there!
they'll set you straight on gears/tires as well as where to get the best vw diesels at least.

zuk: being prepared for total tear down. yota's 5.29's arb's.
ford: it drives.

go check out that tube frame rock buggy on bc4x4.com under suzuki for sale section, it already has a front coil setup and rear 1/4 elliptical. could be a pretty kick ass rig when done, better then some greaseball FORD eeeuuuuccckkkk
