Finally got around to pullin' the crappy TFI-IV dizzy and the EEC conrolled advance.
Put in a duraspark ll dizzy and control module from a pre '85 ford and a MSD Blaster coil.
Just plugged right in with only 2 wires to connect.
Just gotta reset my plug gaps and test it out.
Looks a little messy right now but once I disconnect and remove all the feedback carb crap and extra wiring for the old dizzy it will be pretty clean under the hood.:D

Sadly, I was not out at the Whipsaw run because I had to WORK
yes, it does get in the way of wheelin', but to wheel better the truck needs upkeep and improvements = $$$$$$$
So extra work for a while.
I'm off work till the 27th now tho [8D]

so time for some improvementst :D

one little tip, jim.mount another ignition box next to the one you are using.those are notorious for quitting without notice.this way you just unplug one and into the other and carry on!

i dont need people to get me,i just need people to get out of my way

I use the same set up except with the coil of the tfi-4 so i dont need a ballast resistor. works for me. i have an extra coil and brain box for mine, its a good idea.

I thought up sonmeting really clever and funny to right here, reaally i did, I just forgot it

The MSD Blaster SS coil I have is an e-core type like the stock ford one so I don't need a ballast resistor either.
Will leave the stock coil mounted as a spare.
Just gotta get another blue tab ignition box now.
