Put stock wheels on and the motor won't have to work so hard[22]

All right stop, collaborate and listen.

Yep, what Lizard said. I don't know why people think electric fans are so great, because they're not. A good mechanical fan with a proper shroud will flow waaaaay more air than the best electrics. The only benefits that an electric have are the option of being able to turn it off for watter crossings so the blade don't flex in the water and tear through your rad, and they free up a tiny bit of horse power. The reason the racers and shit run them is just to free up the HP and they don't really need that great of a fan since they're going so fast anyway.

Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure, but your best bet would be to put your old mechanical fan and shroud back in. If you've done an engine swap and don't have the room for a mechanical, then I'd suggest maybe running two smaller electric fans so you can get more coverage of your rad. Or get another new rad that heavier duty -- like a 4 core

i agree as it is a closed pressurized system (overflow is pressurized too

for every 1psi you add to the system you add 3*f to the boiling point
i think

it's light it's fast it's powerful

everything a chevy isn't

lately the most common thing i've seen is a worn clutch fan.
I've fixed a lot of heating problems in cherokees. Not much
fun. When they work they are great when they don't they suck
big time.

Electric fans are far superior in flow then even a really tight clutch system . The problem is as in my truck i dont have a way to clear out the hot air. My electric ran at over 2250 cfm and the best factory clutch system would only run at about 1400 cfm. Electrics are great for moving air but if it cant get it out as in the cj of mine it doesnt help!

What about timing ??Are you in specs on that ?

First get rid of the electric fan they just block air flow on the highway that only helps in the slow spots.then your rad is probally pluged and you cant tell so either get it acid tanked or replace it. If you are still haveing problems then check engine vitals.

Whats the difference between an open and closed set up?
Excuse my ignorance but i'm sure its a Jeep thing...

not exactly sure to be honest ---
but i believe the closed runs at higher pressures
and the open runs lower \\\ the difference in the rads is that on the open i fill the rad through the spout and on a closed you can not as it has no spout

theaerticaly the closed system uses a seperate tank as a high spot so that there is no air in the main circulating coolent vw use this system also there is no over flow buy more of an expansion tank

if you have a closed system i would make sure that the expansiontank is indeed the high spot in the system if it's no it will not function properly

If you'r gona do'er pound'er
