i'm using a duraspark 2 with no MCU except i'm using the E core coil from the TFI-4 that used to be in the truck. with the dura 2 there is a ballast resistor inbetween the 12 volt source and the coil. the TFI coil has a built in resistor and i think it will run my factory tach. I have checked the system for spark and know its good but havent ran the moter yet. will the E coil work in the d 2 system or is there the chance of burning out the coil.

im also thinking about welding the rear end. its a 10.25 and I'm only running 36 swampers but have a shit load of torque. who would be the best place to get it welded up.

the coil will work, but i have not done a long term test on them.carry a spare,i have lots!my welded 10.25 takes a shit-kicking with 44 boggers and the welds have not been an issue.pull the carrier and i will weld it for $80 if its not posi.guaranteed not to break!

i dont need people to get me,i just need people to get out of my way
