On Sunday this week, 5 of us headed up Norrish to where a creek bed was and some old fallen rotten trees layed across. Inspected and saw, and liked alot =)

Took us about 3 hours of grunt work to get about as far as the can opener, and their is ALOT more trail to go, lots of cool challenges and alot more can be made. Some spots we only cleared out one side and not the other side of the creek bed where we could have.

It is 16km's up from the bottom, took me 32 minutes to get up in my Sammy. I suggest having all the typical rock climbing gear to get up.

the first page has some pictures, ive got a movie at home waiting to be uploaded of the first entrance to the trail.

It was a blast, wish more people came up to help, but it was sure exciting to see that Yota climbing up and making progress on a trail that we worked hard on.

Oh yah and some up keep is a must on the trail as you can see in the pictures you are 6 feet under ground and on each side is dead trees, and as things errode (sp?) sections are gonna get covered up. It just means a team effort would be suffice to keep this trail an active yet challenging one.

Looks cool;)

I can't picture 16 kms on Norrish. Is it right off the side of Norrish or off a spur rd [?]

Maybe we can add it to the Truck Challenge this weekend [:p]

Me like big rocks [8D]

looks like a great trail!!! Does it come out to another road or can it be turned into a loop?

It is up the same road as the can opener, just as you pass the 15km peg you take a bend to the right and wham right there on the right hand side going up the side of the mountain. Gary hiked a good 10 minutes up and it comes to a flat spot, than it has a couple different directions or you can keep on going, we are wondering if their is a sweet water hole up at the top, cause obviously water has gone down it in some point in time.

It used to be pretty difficult to see, but now that we opened it up a bit its alright, their used to be 2 really big rocks side by side that kinda made the trail to hard to get through, but a full size and a winch took care of that problem =)

When I come up next weekend for the modified truck challenge, I can show ya where it is if ya wanna check it out. The cool thing is the whole way up it has 6 foot embankments so spectators could be littered up the side and have an awesome time watching. Also a few flat spots on the sides a little higher up which would be great to "pitch a tent" if your too drunk. I figure it would take a good hour to get all the way up the way this guy goes.

You should just show ME first. That way I can keep the less capable trucks away (like Kev, Jon, or anyone else with a Heep...[f])[1e]

A buddy and I walked for about 45min up this trail back in the spring, at one point it cross's a stream , nothing major, then at another point it meets up with another stream which runs down the once main road, it has a huge hole of a corner where the water changes direction back down the mountain, we plugged the coordinates into a GPS and it shows the road connecting with another road a ways up. No doubt this trail rocks, aswell at one point if you go left down towards the road there is a series of twisty trail with rock ledges and all sorts of fun stuff. Cant wait to try things out.
