My wife and I are planning a week long camping trip come mid july and we want to go into the interior , but dont want to pay to camp. Can anyone tell me where there is some good places to camp ie: rivers ,lakes , anywhere were there is some water for swimming/fishing or whatever. If anyone can help me out I would gladly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.
Marc.

You can take the boy out of the country, but you cant take the country out of the boy.

If you come to the Kootenays, there are a ton of rec sites with decent fishing, and awesome access to 4x4ing from the camp site. That is if we get lots of rain between now and July, otherwise I think the bush will be shut down by summer.
