Try getting ahold of Jake Palmberg.

Craziest sumbitch to ever build a Zuki.

He developed some SOA system at one time, built his Zuki to run 44`s huge axles, big motor all the good stuff. I got a couple pics here somewhere of it back about 97 or so, launching through the Summerland bog runs.

*Sigh* you might as well call it a Chevy Tracker now for real.... just use some Dana axles, and a NVG t-case... don't have to use adapters!!! I'm dissapointed[16] But hey it's not my project...quote:Originally posted by sj-x 500

i WANT ford.. but can't find an adapter for the price i'm gettin this one for

and believe me i want diesel, but there's no good lightweight diesels, and the big ones suck without turbo's and electronics, so it defeats the purpose if you know what i mean. i want hp, and with an auto, there's little driveline impact. also i want relibility, electronics and offroad abuse don't mix, been there done that. should it break down, parts are a dime a dozen, and it's easy to fix to boot.

So a VW turbo diesel won't work??? You've got that wrong...lightweight powerful, and no electronics....The SB350, if it's a TBI, or Vortec, is going to have a TON of electronics...unless you use a carb...have fun on hills, and at the gas pump($1.00 per litre this summer) [15] HP offroad is good for mud , for a small veh. with trails=TORQUE!!! (unless your building it for mud)
SJ I think you change your mind as often as your underwear...[16]
Chev is way better than Ford though...[5]
Have fun:D

Well guy we are shooting to get burnt down here this saturday to pull the two bodies and prep the care package for you.

Actually sj_x 500's project is half of one of my projects that has been side lined due to time restraints. So y not get him going on something. Larry is going to use half of my sazall projet parts from last year, drive train mainly and the body from lil kicker. Y might you ask would I be getting rid of the kick body? Project sawzall is going to rest on top of the 4dr kick frame with the vw turbo diesel powerplant. Just alot quicker to get up and running.

I will post pictures of the body when we pull it this weekend and the care package I am sending LArry/ Also I will bring the Sawzall project back up to date as well this weekend.

Sorry to butt in on the conversation but just wanted to drop somemore info on the project.

y (I think he is not going vw) because to get a 1.9 vw deisel is way to much $$$$$$!! and yes i think he is building it more for mud vs trail
i think if i had the $ and know how i would go 350......all though a 4.3 votec would be VERY sweet.
I'm curios as to what other small deisels are out there other than vw, toy and mercedes??

women want me bulls fear me

nissan makes one, rare
toy makes one, rare
vw makes one desirible one, rare
ford had one in the tempo's, made by mazda or mitsu., POS
i'd love a diesel, but the selection sucks.
btw, a 350 with an auto will work find on the trails, look at all the v8 heeps out there, they dont' have a problem.

Volvo makes a nice litle one as well as isuzu. I have a couple of the toy ones, their quite a bit heavier then my mercedees 240, and the tranny selection sucks.

Nissan might not be so bad... especially if you look for a Datsun. Tough little engine (SD22, SD23, SD24). Gets used in boats and forklifts even. My buddy had one for a daily driver.
