View Full Version : Ideas To Mount A Warn 8472 In The Back?

03-22-2004, 03:52 PM
I am going to be getting a second warn 8472 winch and i would like to have one on the front and one on the back of my 90 f150.
does anybody have any ideas for mounting it(or building a bumper that will hold it?) so it is stationary? i dont want a reciever mount and have to deal with removing it after every time out.

thanks for any ideas

reciever mounts the easiest way then u only need one winch.if not u gotta make somekinda custom removeable brkt.

I used the reciver mount idea(front an rear) on my toyta, baja, quad ...it works great.

The hard part is it needs to be mounted quite low so you can still use the tailgate. If it was me I would look at mounting it close to the cab but Under the floor of the box, then run the cable to the bumper fairhead.
you could mount it simple If you have a bodylift.
