just wondering if anyone's been up the Blowdown creek road all the way to the pass(if its even drivable). my wife and i tried it a couple years ago in a stock Trooper and couldn't make it because of poor clearance in the truck:(. from what ive read in a guidebook, this road goes up to the alpine and through a pass to a lake on the other side. the road heads south off the duffy lake raod at the end of the lake. Anyone been there?

I went up there 3 or 4 years ago. I went up in the middle of summer and it was high enough that there was still some patches of snow at the top. Unfortunately you can not go all the way through. There is no motorized trafic allowed once you get the the Stien Valley. It is only about a 10 minute hike to the peak of the mtn from where you can drive to. I was there on a really clear day. The View is amazing!!
