so i need to remove the shifter on my transmition and noticed there was what looked to be a pin secureing it in. so i attempt to tap the pin out and notice that the pin doesnt want to move and kind of pushed the pin in a little bit. now, with the pin being kind of mashed in a bit and poking out the other side about a millimeter, i cant shift over to 3nd, 3rd, and reverse. it only seems to want to go from Low to first. any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

The pin only holds the retaining collar in place. You have to push the dome collar down and turn it. This will allow the collar to be removed and the shifter will just pop out then. Once it is out you can then push the pin back to where it belongs.

alright, ill try that and get back. mainly i think my problem now is that the pin is a bit damaged because i was trying to punch it through.
