if some people are looking for suggestions for aircare repairs i might be able to help you. i just need to know what your 4x4 is what it has in it for an engine and what the readings were and the allowables are. Keep in mind i can only do so much here but on a limited basis i might be able to help. I am a licenced aircare certified mechanic (just for your information) just e-mail for held and put aircare for subject.

Well have I got some good times for you my friend[11] Took the carb off the truck today and dad cleaned 1/4" of mud out of it and checked everything out and looks well but it still revs high and spews black smoke when you fat to the mat it. My answer is this http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung0903/waffen/violent-smiley-017.gif but I don't think that will help.

Dear god....

The easiest way to pass aircare is plugs wires cap and rotor, retard the timing to 5" over, lean the idle on the carb out until it almost stalls / backfires, then run down the highway at 200Kph and take it to the aircare place hot.

Buy a holly off-road carb. works at up to 85' off level.

retarding timing and leaning is not the right fix. your vehicle tends to misfire causing high hc. there is a certain point that it helps but it does not work in every case. i am just offering suggestions to people who do not know how to fix them and have limited funds. just tryin to help other wheelers out.

And I apricate that, I was saying dear god about the 1/4" of mud in his carb!

Its hard to tune a vehicle for aircare without a gas sniffer but I have always been able to pass by leaning it out and retarding the timing, and then running HOT. The hotter the engine and exaust the more HC will be transformed in to NOx, so if you reduce the amount of fuel being burned your Nox will be low enough to pass.

If your way over on HC at idle it sounds like your either running WAY rich or you have bad spark and not all the gas is being burned. Is it carb'd? if so lean the idle mix way out almost to the point of stalling. If not its new plugs wires cap and rotor for you my friend.

God I hate aircare.
