Well I tryed to beat the Devil twice now with welding the gear to the crank. This will be the third time I will have to fix it so I think it is time to stop and put the new crank in. Hopefully Rhinogear can come thru for me with a crank, if not Suzuki wants a nice G note for a new crank(thats cost by the way.)

If the engine hadn't have been rebuilt 20 - 30 thousand Km ago I would drop a new engine is from a wreckers or do a swap.

Just wanted to share my pain. Thanks

I'm sure we got the new crank for Shauna's tracker for 3 or 4 hundred... I'll call Kit a bit later and see where he got it. I think it was a reconditioned one. It has lasted 4 years so far even with her abuse!!!

Well from what I know it is a suzuki problem. There is about two to three thousands clearance between the gear and the crank bolt when it is fully seated. So next time im going to add a custom shim to get rid of the slop. They didnt shim the gear when they rebuilt the engine before we bought it.

Anywho Rhinogear has got a line on a crank for me for a hun spot. Going to try welding the gear one more time today and see if it will hold. It just has to hold for a little bit until I get a crank ground and new bearings.

Praying for snow so I can make some cash so I can get everything buttoned up.

Yeah I did that instead. Taking the insurance off the rigs on Tuesday. Only had 24 hours on my last pay cheque so it looks like a lot of hitching up and down from the hill.

The kick lives. I re welded the crankshaft and am praying we can get a crank shaft soon before the gear decides to give again.

Bonus. I picked up everything I needed to get the 4wd working. Wooohooo trail runs again.
