I was watching the news yesterday and saw the line up we were in up at Stave Lake after they found the dead body.

In the interview the cop was saying how much of a "thorn in our side" the area has been in the background were the mudded up trucks waiting to get out. This is just more lasting image people are going to have about us.

This place will be closed down it is just a matter of time.

That just sucks. They are going to close down everything exciting for the 4x4 crowd and yet just look around and you can see that hikers and mountain bikers do just the same as the bad 4x4 apples, it just takes more effort to get there. We all try to clean up for those that pack in and leave it there for someone else. The closures just gotta make us good guys MAD:mad:

It made you look hey !

Well the storey made front page of the Province yesterday ! Still not to much info ,, I sure wonder why they would have shut the road down and make all of us go through that long lineup when it sounds like the body was probably up there for a long time !!!

I went up there yesterday, just to "watch" the spectacles that people make of themselves. Quite entertaining. No kidding why they call it "Redneck Flats", some guys were so stuck & still wouldn't put down their beercans. I am kinda surprsed there's not more injuries out there, what with all the drinking & manuoveres people are trying to pull off. Pissed & sinking their trucks in the mud. Tow ropes snapping & fires abandoned burning, people ripping around on ATVs & ditbikes w/o helmets etc. I talked to one guy & wondered if the place could be shut down. He said that it's BC Hydro territory so unlikely it'll get locked up only if they declare it a watershed.

Dam, I go there just to "Watch" as well but I always end up being part of the show!! The Redneck flats are always entertaining but I'll NEVER take my kids there. Did once and they almost got run over. Truck with muddy windows and drinking beer are not looking for Kids nor should they be. This is an adult redneck hangout.

You know how to make a Redneck do something dumb?
say " Bet you can't "

Big 10-4 on that ! Wouldn't let the little guy get out of the truck !

I've cruised by there the last couple of Sundays and found it entertaining to watch from a distance. But up close there's too many dirt bikes and atv's zooming around. You gotta watch too close where you're going to enjoy the show. The road up where they have just started falling some trees leads to the top of a hill that lets you look down on the whole thing. Looks kinda neat from up there.
