From what I understand this is just a bolt-up affair. Anyone have any info or better yet experience regarding this?

It bolts on but may be longer, why u wonna do that?. from my raceing experiance it's hard to beat a well built 400 for strength.

700 is weak, the only advantage is the o. drive.

Even if you can't drive stick, what better time to learn. Don't want to apply for a job and not get it cause of something stupid like that.

Fawk Off!!

I learnt to drive on a car that was standard!
I've done enough wheelin to know that I way prefer an auto when wheelin. Not to mention while I'm in an unfamiliar city, trying to drive through rush-hour traffic, and talk on the CB..with a camper on the back.

Plus I'm lazy...

From what I've been hearing, the TH400 is probably the tranny of choice so I think I'm going to stick with it. Everyone and their dog disses the TH700

i talk to a chevy-inclined buddy. his opinion is that the 700 is basically a 350 with OD, and the 400 is your best bet. he mentioned somethin about a E7??? that is a four speed equivelant to the 400. guess the key is a big ass tranny cooler with its own fan.

i drive a truck. it's a 4x4. it has big tires. it goes vroom vroom.

Well, maybe. Unfortunately, I really doubt we can drop a tranny, rebuild it, then re-install in 1 day.

Why not? If they can build a mud running 4x4 on junkyard wars in 10 hours I think we can rebuild something in 2 hours.

Yeah dipshit! My tranny weighs almost as much as your truck!

Actually, I believe it weighs in at around the 200 to 250 pound range.

Plus my crossmember is fucked and that's gonna take some work...

Hey Calvin,

You have a TH350 in there right now right?

There were a bunch in the last issue of the interior buy and sell. Maybe check there if you can't find anything else?
