View Full Version : Well time for repairs and upgrading to my junk.

03-05-2017, 02:07 AM
Noticed on the last run my junk was acting a little more than its usual perfect amount of junkie so i cleared some much needed room in the shop and pulled my junk right in.lol
Decided to take off the spare and winch for space and ease of access to the parts of my junk in question.
Well the front bumper just about fell off  so I'm quite glad I didn't try winching anyone as it would have ripped it right off. So I guess as I start into this repair and upgrade packedge to my junk it's going to start adding up. [16]
IL upload so pics as the job goes on but for now I've got this list.
Install 3 core aluminum rad with two built in electric fans.
Remove hood and modify and paint as sean is going to airbrush my old diff devil skull on it.
Modify and install my spare hood .
Replace all front control arm bushings and staring.
Lift the rear end two inches for more rear flex room .
Trim and tuck rear quaters for the same reason.
May have to level the front if I get out if control we will see.lol.
Might even add an exhaust that goes passed the drivers door. Lol
That's all for now.Rice

03-05-2017, 11:11 AM
Agreed and it's boat bring out another thousand. That my other vice . This one's cheapish just time consuming

03-05-2017, 11:56 PM
Your not wrong.lol

03-12-2017, 07:36 PM
Way too nice for your jeep. Just doubled the value

03-13-2017, 02:31 AM
Looks like a stick magnet
You shouldn't have shiney parts but I guess your pile is worth 220 bucks now

So while doing the rad swap I spotted the new route for the ghetto snorkel. Using the stock box and the stock inlet I can route under the front of the computor and out through the fender 45 and down the fender another 45 and up the window frame to the roof. And using the left over parts from the old 12 dollar snorkel I can make a even cheaper 8 dollar snorkel. Lol Now that's junkie if anything ever was. oh yeah . I started by cuting up the old pipe and fittings to utilise as much of the old one as possible and found out my abs glue is fukrd so dammit gotta spend a couple bucks on glue but the only other shit I need is two 45s and a collar and a 4ft piece of 2 inch pipe so I whole sawed the intake and hacked a 90 on a used piece to create the intake fitting and I'm cutting a piece of flat plastic to glue over the original opening. Ready for glue . Then whole saw my way thru the fender and use the rubber adapter with two hose clamps and bobs your uncle.[36]

03-30-2017, 09:58 PM
IL finish it tomorrow.

03-30-2017, 11:12 PM
Beaver proof

03-31-2017, 02:40 AM

Always broke
03-31-2017, 12:07 PM
Hi great work but is it beaver proof , I know it's been said but worth saying again ......... lol

03-31-2017, 07:26 PM
I believe beavers are fucked now that I've worked this out.lol

03-31-2017, 08:19 PM
Toyota parts will fix that right up [36]

03-31-2017, 09:29 PM
Still cost me 16.50 but it's a beutiful thing if i do say so myself . And I just did. Lol

03-31-2017, 11:31 PM
So this air intake should help protect your flair from getting torn off again
Or not lol

Always broke
04-05-2017, 02:20 PM
It's too shiney for you!!

04-12-2017, 01:19 PM
Agreed tod . Il do something about that.

04-25-2017, 10:36 PM
These idiots at dna racing obviously never tried the install of the bolt in upgrade rad/ fans as the pass side fan would not clear the pulley bolts . So I 180'd the fans and cut the excess thread off the bolts and still have contact. Only other option is to move the pass side fan a 1/2 to the right or 1/4 up dammit .go fuck yourself

04-26-2017, 04:13 AM
Well that just sucks

04-26-2017, 09:18 AM
Agreed man

04-26-2017, 08:30 PM
And now you can't just put the stock fan back in bahaahab

04-26-2017, 10:28 PM
Oh I'm way past that.lol

06-14-2017, 07:21 PM
This rad upgrade has been just bullshit from the get go . NEVER and I meen NEVER buy anything from DNA racing in California. This supposedly bolt in 3 core aluminum fkn peice o shit is the worst . Mounts off by 1/2 inch .shit threading in the fitings . Shroud just not going to fit without major mods I had to cut the holes and remount fans from the inside due to there being no clearence with them surface mounted as they had it. They obvioysly never tried actually installing this piece o shit in an xj. And after all that it's running hotter than with the stock setup even with a new water pump and thermostat.
Wtf I'm frustrated

06-14-2017, 07:24 PM
Anybody got any ideas?
I might just take the shroud out and build a couple brakets. Maybe the solid shroud isn't letting the air flow though enough.

06-14-2017, 07:28 PM
Picked up a set of road tires today . Thier 35 12.5 15 radial Baja claws . Il use em for road and wandering . They should be alot smoother and when im heading wheeling il swap em for the ltb's.

06-14-2017, 08:53 PM
Yeah I'd say try to open up that back part.

Give it to Procurcuit and he can do some dimple holes in it :D

06-14-2017, 10:13 PM
Where's the cheapest place to mount and balance a set of 35's

06-15-2017, 02:48 AM
have you tryed switiching the polarity of the fans? for example if they are setup as pushers, try them as puller pans. is there much blocking air flow on the front side of the rad? is your rad cap holding the rated pressure?

06-15-2017, 03:06 AM
Got the proper 50/50 mix in there?

06-15-2017, 04:37 AM
Head gasket? Not losing fluid

06-15-2017, 07:25 AM
Polarity is all good. There pullers and tgere pulling. Ac rad is blocking but its clean I can easily see the new rad through it. Using the new Cap 11psi that came with the rad. Running 50/50 mix brand new. And nope not losing any fluids so head gasket is most likely alright. Maybe thermostat is defective.

06-15-2017, 01:19 PM
well that sucks monkey balls [41]

06-15-2017, 10:16 PM
You not

Me help

06-16-2017, 02:51 AM
i believe the oem rad cap is a 16lb cap, i might be wrong. i would at least use a cap with the oem rated pressure. a lower rated cap will lower the boiling point of the coolant substantially. any chance of a air pocket in the cooling system? some vehicles can be a bitch to get all the air out. my car is a prime example. i need to loosen the upper rad hose when its hot and bleed out the air when its under pressure.

Yup, I have to "burp" my pathfinder too. I normally can do this with the rig up to temp, rad cap off and "pump" the upper hose.

06-16-2017, 12:11 PM
IL try that tonight

06-16-2017, 12:25 PM
Put less weight in the driver's seat

06-17-2017, 10:02 AM
Ok I'm fkn retarded. aparently I'm loosing it. Fans on put you hand behind and air is blowing so I figure thier all good but no it just blow back I had the polarity reversed the whole time. Dirt diggler says hey man you fans ae pushing.lol well fawk. Anywho temp a constant 50 now so all is gooder . Thoyght my front bumper came loose but nope ive popped the factory welds that hold the front crossbar to the frame. Glad I caught that before I wiched lol would ripped the front of the xj right off. Mounted the claws and though them on and wobble has reduced bur my bushings aren't in yet so I'm very close to running the heep again. Now it's time to start work on my one ton . Then scrap the exsploder.

06-18-2017, 10:52 AM
Bwahaha Jeople

Let me know when you need a winch bitch
