My dad's dodge(91 2500 4wd) has a leaky oil pan. Not huge but thinking I might fix it for him while he's not allowed to drive. How hard of a job is it? Looks pretty tight to the crossmember.

91 is a w250, not 2500....

And the oil leak is rust prevention, like a toyota

You will have to lift the engine to get a little wiggle room but the pan probably still will not come out. The crank is tucked up into the the block though so you can sneak the new gasket in there without much trouble. The throws of the crank are pretty much level with the pan mating surface.

Make shure it's pan before going through changing it
Clean it first

Hope he gets well soon. Be a nice surprise if you can fix it [cheers]
