Yup payback is a bitch

Anyway have a buddy that put the last 20 years or so
Running the track in mission put his heart into it
Has some health issues can't do it anymore
He's been really down and no drive
So he has been building a 69 Beumont for as long as I've known him b
Because all his free time has been spent helping the rest of us race
Hasn't touched it in ten or more years have talked to him about dragging it out and bringing it to shop and finishing it for a couple years he kept I have to clean it off and putting it off
So we went and took it
Just showed up with deck truck and moved everything off it
And loaded it up
Anyway we ordered a whole new interior and bunch of other shit and starting to put it together it's going to be nice big block turbo 400 blue on black pictures to follow as it comes together [cheers]

Cool. Lookin forward to the build.

02-16-2016, 07:49 PM
So it kinda like the show overhauling. Lol

02-16-2016, 08:27 PM
Actually we tried to get it on overhauling something to do with borders etc
Foose and Kenny young blood are good friends and when Kenny is in town he stays where I work lol
The car is already painted and mostly together

I've always kinda liked beamonts

Day we brought it to shop 178620

02-16-2016, 08:53 PM
Got this accomplished today rad in 178621 after market rad for chevelle starting to understand why he was frustrated
Rad doesn't fit rad support sits to tall and hood hits rad mount
So trim a bit trim some more test fit trim paint edges
Reposition rad to pass side a inch it fits

02-16-2016, 08:59 PM
Anyway pics are reversed last one was finished 178622drilling for nutsert to move rad over a inch
And yes it would have been easier to just take the rad back and get another one that fit
But they wouldn't take back a rad that was bought in 02
And this is a buget build

02-16-2016, 09:21 PM
I March pulley set up 178623another pia
Every back yard fixit shop needs a lathe and a mill have a small lathe
Could take the 10 thou off the spacers but had to run to buddy's to use his mill to do the brackets
All day to put a alt and power steering on.
The power steering hose was more fun the trick aftermarket AN line won't clear the block
Stock chevelle one won't work it's female go figure
And the fancy billet pump takes male

Well several days and many trips to lordco we find a line that will clear the block
Not hit the header steering box and I can re bend the end to fit box
Can't bitch lordco out and the parts guy I deal with is used to dealing with our hot rod bs of weird shit we come in trying to get lol I need a heater core for a 64 checker cab or a clutch for a 57 rambler three speed

The ls motor is in it now big block is out

05-30-2016, 11:06 AM
Why for? lighter? More HP? What gives? Not used to hearing people take out big blocks.

05-30-2016, 02:53 PM
Yeah Bruce tell us more about the Chevelle

I'm just posting because it's the right thing to do :D

Always broke
05-30-2016, 05:22 PM
Pics or it didn't happen

05-30-2016, 05:51 PM
fuck i gotta come by and check out the new setup bruce, good job on the beaumont, nice ride!!!

05-30-2016, 09:53 PM
Lighter fuel injection can make same power as big block or more
Buddy's Malibu runs as fast as my car did on motor
Same weight cars 500 dollar junkyard motor with a cam and carbureted
Basically he has less into his motor than freshening the big block will cost me in parts
And my motor had already been pushed way harder than it should have been
Guys are making 800 to 900 horse out of the ls motors and not blowing them up
Look up hotrod Big Bang theory they made over 1200 horse with a stock bottom end 4.8
My big thing is making it affordable to drive 6 mpg gets expensive and take the enjoyment out of it should be able to get milage in the hi teens low twentys
As of right now not much to see just a engine in a hole no turbos on it yet need to build manifolds inter coolers and it's not even home lol

05-31-2016, 08:55 AM
Cool, man. Sounds great, look forward to the progress, I love me some wagon porn :)

05-31-2016, 10:03 AM
