View Full Version : XJ heater cuts out

Road hunting and heater just stops. Never know if its gonna work or not lol. Works on all speeds. 93 Grand Cherokee. Any quick fix?

Dam, I had two toyotas and gave them away. Oops still got the FJ40 but it won't be ready to finish hunting season

Checked resistor and it looked ok. Checked power to blower fan and good power, good ground. Pulled out blower fan. I turned it on and gave it a spin with my hand and it worked. After a bit of off on off on it wouild not spin. Figure a dead spot on commutator. Only 500,000 kms on it lol. Made a 1/2" hole in motor housing opposite of cooling hole for motor. Now can spin it a bit with eraser on pencil if it wont start spinning. So now heat for Mon early morning hunt and get motor at wreckers...

Jump up and down demand it works then have a temper
Tantrum and cry it might work
method I have seen before used on jeep

Maybe your blower resistor

that controls fan speed. normally when it fails you only have high speed.
