found a sweet little trailer for cheap but has no regi. single axle dinky fucker. could i just register it as ubuilt im sure its under 1400kg. is it a pain i the ass to get papers for a camper trailer. thoughts on ubuilt or try do it right? has no fridge or stove so could kinda say its a utility trailer.

I don't think you can do u built without an inspection now.

They want you to provide receipts for the major components like axles, tires, brakes etc.
Also you are NOT allowed to use old camper axles on a u-bilt trailer. Dont know why, maybe its different now, they have been changing the rules on the u-builds due to people registering stolen trailers etc.

I stand corrected, you can use mobile home axles now. 4 years ago when i did my ubuild toyota trailer, that was not allowed, so i had one built by standens.

trailer sold :(

i had no problem registering my ubuild utility trailer no reciepts. had a bill if sail but they never asked to see it. small town though they know us.
