2002 F-350 with a 7.3 diesel.

Did a service on it today and when I checked the rad tank its full of sticky shit that looks like oil and is sticky like oil.
Don't think its oil however I don't know what it is?
Anyone?

Oil is clean and full. (Just changed it)

Sticky shit smells like diesel.
Exhaust is normal.
Check engine light is on.

Is there a fuel cooler or heater somewhere?

why I was thinking the rad sealer is there is some that comes in a bottle
with a liquid that smells sort of like diesel
clean the cooling system and see if it comes back

I may be wrong but I think the 7.3's need their coolant to have Diesel Coolant Additive in it to help prevent cavitation to the cylinder liners. Something to keep in mind if you end up flushing the system.

See what codes it has too.

My 02 powerstroke has the same exact shit in the resiviour , red shit looks like rust , I flushed the cooling system it's still there , there is an additive you put in the cooling systems of these trucks I guess that's what causes this to happen

Not a wet sleeve engine additive not required

If its oil, where did it come from?
Engine oil hasn't changed.

Could it be diesel getting in there from somewhere?
Truck smells like raw diesel when you get in it.

looks like it still is an issue with the parent bore blocks.

Lack of maintenance since the Ford service interval is 25,000km for coolant lol

And yes a cracked injector cup would most likely be the cause if u have fuel in the coolant
