Right now the truck still has a toyota brand battery from when I bought it in 2007, might even be the stock 2003 one....

When it gives me problems I'll try an oddessy

No optima's. I killed the last one in 14 months so there not worth the money.

I've had one of mine for 7 years. No problem

Another 5, and 6 years on two red tops.

You must have bad luck.

obviously the trick to optimas is not use the vehicle
ignore it don't charge them and only start the vehicle every 5 to six months

I had issues with the first 2 but that was from the cole heresy smart charger not charging the system properly. Now they run in parallel and haven't had a issue in 3 yrs now

I've heard optima's dropped off in quality in the last few years. I got the napa premium one (deka intimidator rebadge) I've had no issues with it, even after running it dead flat a few times (one of these days i'm just going to smash the damn interior lamp)

I got a crappy tire battery. It works. I run a 11000lb winch and lights and it holds up. Gotta make sure I don't leave any lights on in the cab or else it dies really quick. i can let the jeep sit for a month and it will still turn over though. Been running mine for a year and a half with no issues. I know they aren't great but it does the trick.
