Answered a call for help today on ......you guessed it STAVE. This one was an honest mistake and driver error in the fog at night. Dude went over a crest of a bank and didn't notice the steep grade down and slid in the water nose first. Yes hydrolocked for sure.

Knew this one was going to be tough because of the dead weight and soft sand plus the winch line was going to auger through the sand creating drag. Estimated stuck weight to be close to a 10,000lb pull based on vehicle weight, soft surface, dragging winch line and steep angle and dead weight. Two us with winches and we could have double line pulled but we had no anchor point. So I decided on snatch block with Jacob as my anchor

Using rigging method taught to me by Geckorubi's recovery clinic and proper ( brand new not even a day old ) winch line dampener for safety

Once to the top Jacob hooked up to the dead vehicle while I re did my winch line and he dragged the truck to flat ground where we left him, last we heard he had his dad coming out with tools to see if they could get the water out of the cylinders.

Nice work, I like the winch line dampner, I usually just throw a strap over my line but that thing is sweet.

Well wasn't just me a team effort was needed, was a hard pull even with a snatch block, without the anchor I'm not sure how I would have pulled him up lol

A few years ago a bunch of us were at the flats in the fog at night. All of us were regulars yet we couldn’t find our way out lol We didn’t know how bad it was until Ann had to leave early and got turned around and stuck. Headlights did nothing.

With the help of a quad we found the road.

We were almost completely blinded.

You might think oh I could have found my way out….and with time yeah sure you could. Strange though after turning around a few times thinking you were going in the right direction your sense of direction is completely shot and you are left second guessing yourself.

Shitty about the truck. I can see how that could happen.

Good on ya for helpin out!

that would be a bit unnerving situation to be in. fog is creepy...even more so if your lost

so many bad things happen there in the fog lol.
The worst is afterwards when you wake up and your heads full of fog!
