Heather and I drove up to the slide in the truck and camper the day after the recovery. It was crazy icy!
Must have been a wicked ride down.
We followed the cat tracks and it was still hard to walk.

D7 was deffenatly the best choice for the pull , we've pulled the asshole out of the world with 2 9s , the 20g bill is kind of a tough one to believe but if the cat had to be lowbeded up there and depending how far he had to walk it I guess that all factors in

We did a few stolen recoveries up at stave with our john Deere 640 line skidder , one was a dodge way up above hamburger hill that was a fun one there wasn't much left of the truck when we got it too the road :D

Was wondering when that was going to show up

The recovery was about $4000
Maybe $3000 in lost items

Plus a written off truck.

Added up it costed far more than 20 000$

He flat out admits he fucked up bad.
Personally I would have been backing down that mountain at the first sign of an iced over road

oh yea easy 20 k loss total and 4 k for the recovery is more like it
but it's not a total loss he will get some back parting it out
at least no one was killed or seriously hurt

That road was nutz. .
even as far as the bridge was bad...went 1000 feet up the hill backed down and cleaned my shorts. We turned and parked. Walking up was even bad.

That's why driving with you there would be trust and driving with someone like this will get you killed.

I was wondering why I haven't seen lucky #13 in awhile. I guess that explains that.

2nd attempt at pulling it up. The cat and truck was brought to Boston Bar on the lowbed that brought the cat in and somebody else was bringing it down from there. But won't make money from parting it out since he is keeping it

I'm not here

Sass need an old H1 Hummer for his next ride. Let's see him destroy that.

on dec 28th, the 3/4" cable broke at about 1/3 up the hill and the truck ended up at the bottom of the hill on it's wheels again. it did end up in a better spot to pull up with fewer obstructions for the second go.

for jan 1st, sass borrowed new 7/8" cable and a bunch of rigging equipment from quiring.

it did cost him about 4 grand to get it done which isn't that bad for a couple of guys, low beds and a cat D7.

he's got another of the same truck lined up so he can transfer some parts over and have the same thing again.

the truck did an endo down the hill with sass at the wheel. i imagine that the brake lights were on the whole way down.

I'm guessing the only reason he wasn't seriously injured on the way down was all the poo in his shorts cushioned the ride:confused0006:

Is that Tmax's truck? That sucks

I know how scary it is when you loose control of a HD truck on ice, you just want to :vroam: .

yup, Sass took some bumps, but it could have ended up much worse and I for one am glad he's ok. He admitted that he never wanted to go down that particular road at the start of the day and planned to avoid it, but got turned around at night and unfortunately wound up on it. I don't know if it was pure balls staying with the truck trying to keep it from going over, but I'm sure he tried his best. An honest mistake that could have happened to anyone. It was nice to see the out pouring of support from fellow wheelers offering their help, and kudos to everyone that did help out. I guess it's good karma for all the recoveries he's done himself over the years.

He's a goof. Maybe that's Karma for all the shit he's caused over the years! Glad he didn't kill anybody but him I could care less about kind of made my day reading and watching it.
