This is after the carnage on an Ann's ATV when the u-joint blew. Had to replace the lower yoke and the u-joint but left the upper like this.

Now with fingers crossed we will see how long it holds

It’s a quad dummy…it’s not unsafe if the U-joint lets go…it goes clankety clankety clankety…..then you stop.

Go drive your car up an FRS road

since the yokes toast why not tack weld the caps? keep things from really coming apart. may save yourself a crash or a bad breakdown

Yeah no big deal if it lets go while climbing a steep hill........

When in doubt replace through out.

Disclaimer...... i have done shitty things like that in the past..... try to fix things properly now

Will this cause further damage to the bike if this one lets go?

I'd be worried most about being stranded on a shitty trail or having it come loose at a precarious point.

I think it will hold but I'd keep that bike on farm duty until you fix it.
