View Full Version : Bow hunting question

I just passed the core and wanna start hunting with my bow. I've been shooting 100gr 28" arrows with 100gr field tips (45lb dw, bowtech assassin short draw, im 26" dl). I was going to get some 200gr arrows to go with my 100 gr broadheads. The guy at the bow shop said I could just cut the arrows down to 27" and that'd make them stiffer. Is that going to be enough for deer? I'd like to shoot bear but I don't know anyone that bear hunts. Plus I just changed shit on my bow so I gotta retune my sight.

go to the arrow manufactures website look at their chart and go by them .
There a few guys that make the arrows so short or try to use the lightest arrow possible that they are borderline . to short an arrow might give you a few fps but it really ends up being dangerous .
