Buddy has a 300-6 in his ford f150 4x4. He was asking me the other day about a big block bolting up to the tranny behind his 300-6. I don't know about Fords so I'm sure someone knows here. Also he has a carbed 300-6. would that bolt up to the tranny his 300-6 EFI is bolted up to?

Thanks guys! As for chevy big blocks vs small blocks its easy to tell which are big and small. If buddys ford has a big block 460 (390??) how can you tell if its a 460 or which big block?

460 and a 390 are visibly completely different engines

an easy way to tell for a non ford guy is to count valve cover bolts and look at the thermostat neck or the water pump.

if you post a picture that would help too.
