so im in the market for a new scope, looking around the 300-400 range, but looking for a scope that can stand up to a decent sized rifle and what you hunters out there think, (lemme pick at your brain a bit) gun is a .300 win mag, currently has a bushnell 4x9 scope on it, (which is broken) any good scoped out there that can withstand some good abuse (shooting more than 4-5 times) without having to constantly sight it in,
also, what are you guys using for scopes? 4x9? 12? :dontknow:
what you think?

I use a Bushnell elite 3200 3-9 x 40 (very good in low light conditions as well as full light) only sight it in once a year and it is never out by much. I carry it on the quad and in the back of the side by side and the sighting always stays true [cheers]

Forgot I also have it mounted onto my Browning X - Bolt 300 win mag it was $249.99 when I bought it around 3 or 4 years ago not sure how much they are now.

I got a Bushnell 4200 2.5x10x40mm because i got a bitchin deal on it. Otherwise I would've got the 3x9x40. Me my dad and a few buddy's have the 4200's and nothing but good news about them.
I don't treat my gun nicely i treat it like an old crescent wrench lol. This past season it had been caked in peace country mud daily for over 2 weeks weeks and everything worked fine. Out deer hunting in -30's and never fogged/crystallized up or anything on me. Very happy with the scope.

Vortex are very nice and affordable. i have one on my 7mm mag, and my buddy has one on his 30-06. The warrenty is lifetime, no paperwork just send in and they fix or replace for free. cant beat that. also they are very clear and bright.

Can't ever go wrong with leupold either, And they offer some excellent base model scopes also. When my son passed his hunter safety course I bought him a new rifle and topped it off with a leupold vx-2 I found on ebay for a great price.
