Tunabomber

Yep build is going quite nicely and having a competent fabricator makes all the difference in the world....especially if he keeps his mouth shut about all of my stupid questions lol .

rear end is in and looking good. Even the drive shaft seems to be a good fit with no alterations required ( so far ) just need a conversion joint for the time being.

It's nice to keep it low but it's no jeep remember , going to need that little bit of height to make up the difference in length your use to buddy have one of those trucks with 33's and three inch body lift and kicked himself in the ass every time he hit a trail

its only a taho so theres not enough length to run a mated and a divorced t case. and its wayy more work than just ajusting the tube lengths to make this one work. also the divorced 205's came in fords so there drivers drop aswell

The bolts are too short??? Yikes. Theirs does seem to be the cheapest at a not really cheap $400, I was thinking of going with them. Everybody wants a pretty penny for crossover steering setups though, did you buy that too or are you guys fabbing one up?

Tunabomber
10-09-2013, 01:19 AM
my steering set up was from a friend and for a ford so the steering arm was to long.

jst go with a sky kit...sure its 700 bucks but in the long run u will do it right the 1st time.

the sky kit has a shaped sterring arm and comes with pitman arm too

well its looking good

we reconfigured the front leaf packs and added one leaf to the rear

we were 3 1/2 high in the front

we are currently up 1 in the rear and down 1 1/2 in the front .

going to stop there for now as the front should sag a bit and i still have the option of removing the stock rear shackles and getting some 2'' lift ones to give her a little rake or at least compensate for load

Cant even express the gratitude for owen. thanks buddy you did better than expected.

took 3 weekends of moderate paced work and alot of skill from owen fixing my blunder with the 60 .

but she sits nice and level and drives very nice for the size of her.

we corrected the height by adding one leaf to the rear and adjusting the leaf pack up front. and the cool part is we were able to stuff 50'' springs in the front so she rides nice and soft and although we havent tried it yet i think if going to flex way better than my jeep.

any way heres a few shots

eric, do some research, I can't remember.. But the 78-9 hp d60 axles were not very good (although they had the most desired offset and axle housing.

I can't remember, but there is an easy and price acceptable upgrade, (not alloys).... have a look around before you buy some junkers..
