From Harrison lake East you can go as far as Williams Lake ALL on gravel roads. I talked to someone that knows the WL area and they said you can go a lot further then that

Gonna get all the back road map books for the areas also !!

I would guess a lot of the roads won't run east west as in general the ranges and lakes run north south in bc, especially thru the kootenays and such

I did one in 2010 and another last week

Buddy on here (iceman or 69fj40 whatever his tag is now) when we do a trip like that we sit down an use bc backroa maps an out gps program an plan out routes. When it gets closer to going just give me a shout an we'll help u out!

And yes now would be too late. Was pretty cold out there at night

09-25-2013, 12:21 PM
Well hell why dont we both go and start a plan ?

09-25-2013, 01:25 PM
Because it doesnt take all winter to plan something. An we usually figure out when we are going an then plan

An make plan A an plan B routes

Felt that cold sitting around a fire at duncan lake last week on a cloudless 11pm sky. Then i made the fire bigger and felt nothing!

Well from my understanding of this map, Kimberley is in the purcells, and the purcells extend northwest of Kimberley. So really, Im sticking to I think it's the Rockies. :p

Lots of off highway routes along highway 3 that I've wanted to try from lower mainland to West Kootenay. Once you're at Kootenay lake, the Gray creek pass is the last east/west route I know of until you go north to the trans canada. Or you could stay south of hwy 3 and I believe you can stay off pavement from just east of Creston to the Alberta border
