Out of Houdini's Butt....Taz and I have been spending time having fun. Although we haven't posted in a while, it is time to share with you all one of our adventures in Arizona.

We tried to escape the winter snow fall and headed to Arizona. To our amazement, we met up with members of the Walapai 4-Wheelers club. These people are awesome, but for some strange reason at first snowfall they wanted to explore the high country.... Go figure. Well Taz and I were up for the trip. They are based out of Kingman AZ.

Mention of the Gold King Mansion brought out our inquisitive nature for sure!!

We met up and headed out on the trail. Although is started out pretty mellow, we were up for some surprises. The trail is the Moss Ross Road.

Jeeps ran abundant but the Zuke proved it's worth.

No, this is not a pull, but a tow back on a traveler in need (otherwise hung up and no way out)

Gold King Mansion (http://www.blm.gov/az/st/en/prog/cultural/kfo_cult.html#goldking) is an historic, two-story concrete building built in the late 1920ís by the Gold King Corporation which used the ornate structure to entertain wealthy investors and to house the mine foreman. The nearby Gold King Mine produced gold, silver, copper, and lead, but production never reached the level investors had hoped for. The stock market crash in October 1929 brought an end to the mine and to the mansion.

Heck..why did he build this mansion? For a woman of course...
She never did like the place.

After the mansion we encountered a slight delay while friends assisted bouncing on the hood to get us the traction needed for the climb.

The rest of the trail was easier...especially with me out taking pictures to avoid any screams from the passenger seat.

We did reach the snow... but hugging the side of the mountain did not encourage me to take pictures. My hands were too busy with the holy shit handles and closed eyes.
