First, no I don't have a pic of the camshaft.. yet.

The tailgate latch doesn't work on my old '93 Cummins W250 so I was unloading a 5'x3" scrap camshaft from a giant Cummins engine from the Sparwood mine that I was told weighs about 350lbs. The first one went fine but as I was pulling the second one over the ass end of the truck over the closed tailgate (which has a checker end protector), one hand slipped and so my ring finger on the left hand got squashed and the end almost blew right off. I invented a few new words (and being damn near 40 I thought i'd hear em all)... threw m gloves off, wrapped up my finger with paper towel and headed er for town (35kms away). The funny part was the look on the faces of oncoming traffic when they noticed my bloody wrapped up arm and hand out he window!
Got to the hospital, sat in the Emerg waiting room for 20 minutes bleeding away... and a few stitches later the rest is history! Been 3 months now and I have about 3/4 of a new nail grown in... almost looks like a real finger again.

Have them reinstall the finger tip at 90 degree to the rest of the finger,

the ladies love it.

Well i'm usually a pretty quick healer and so my finger only took a couple months to get to damn near good as new.. there is just a little line still where the stitches were. The nail took much longer to grow back in and now its 99% where it was. Pretty lucky i'd say.. even the feeling has about 99% returned. Oh, and here is the camshaft by the way... look what it did to the roof of a neon!! (just kidding it had some help)

Not sure which mine it came from exactly. I spent 8 days in Line Creek a while ago.. that was enough for me.

Been fairly lucky so far.. until this happened :P Car fell on me once but I was quick enough and it scraped my leg and pinched my coveralls to the ground.. took a few minutes to weasel out of them or I'd have been there a while.
