My son is visiting from the NWT. He is having some issues with this 2008 Rubicon 3.8 litter auto. He would like to find someone with a similar jeep to try his computer in. Anyone willing to let us try would be appreciated.

pretty sure you can't just swap and try .. 08 would be vin specific, unless the ecu has the right vin programed in its not going to work [cheers]

scan it for pending codes or freeze frame codes first

I'm pretty sure mike is right on that I don't believe you can just swap an ecu I think it needs to be flash programmed to be recognized for the truck

Almost the same as Ann's rig. He also has an issue with the front disconnect plug.

Front disconnect plug could be the computer chip in the system got wet and fried itself happened to mine. What's the other issue I've learned a lot about the 08 jk seeing I beat the living crap outta mine

I have an extra computer you could try but yes most times the computer needs to be flashed with an update. The reason is it has to have all the same options as the jeep it's going into or it wont work.

Ca,'t just swap the comp. It's programmed to specific vehicles and can only get reprogrammed at the dealer. Just went through a bucket of shit with my buddies 07. Guess it was the TIPM? which is weird cause you could still push start it. There's hundreds of thousands of problems with that module and no recall as of yet. Also there is the problem of the jeep just won't start, even the dealer can't figure it out. I used to have an 09 Rubi, I also used to miss it. not anymore, not with the problems that keep cropping up.
