Well I haven't been posting much. Been busy. Me and Megan moved up here 4 months ago. We are both loving it. I like my job once again and Megan is liking hers as well. I finally did what I had been trying to do for 2 years in the lower mainland. I bought a house, on property, in the sticks. Just loving life deer and moose in the yard and great fishing across the road. Surrounded by crown land on 3 sides. Couldn't ask for more except for maybe more the 24hrs in a day.[cheers]

The wife and I always have wanted to move into the cariboo area but not sure about employment. Do you go up there with something lined up, or do you head up and "pound the pavement"? I am assuming most of the work up there is mining/forestry.

yes do tell bud. looks awesome

their is a fair amount of jobs up hear. yes mining and logging are the main industry. I am in neither. From what I hear around town the mines are always hiring. their are two more mine suposta go in. I lined a job up before we moved. That's what it was hinging on. their are other jobs here as well. I didn't look as I was staying in my trade.

How it all came to be was I was moose hunting up north with my uncles and cousin. after being in the bush for 10days and B.S around the fire. I was talking about how I don't want to go back to the lower mainland. Busy and crazy ( you know what I mean). They responded with " if you like it here so much move here". We go to talking about my trade and if its feasible up here. they said you don't know till you try.
Got home from hunting Oct 01st
Made a phone call Oct 04
went up for a interview and got hired on the spot
move up Dec 15 and rented a POS trailer for 800$/m
bought a house March15.

never looked back.
