My buddy just bought a pretty clean 85 pick up and he's looking for a cheap 4" lift. My truck is all trail gear goodies so I'm not sure which direction to put him in! So were wondering what people are doing for a cheap lift on a 85 ext cab pickup? Cheers and thanks Adam

Set of springs and shocks trail gear has best price
Don't do lift blocks in rear do springs
Get the hd springs all around and pull a leaf out of the packs
Then when you add a winch sliders bumpers Etc
you can add the leaf back in instead of buying another set of springs
Steering the old school s drop drag link is cheapest way and no
Fab work
not shure if anyone even makes the drop drag link anymore
A hi steer is Better but more money and fab work required
Needs a ifs box installed welding required
and possibly steering column Swap with a 86 to 88 column
I'm assuming it is a straight axle truck being 85
Rumours of some 85s being ifs

pro-comp are a cheap bolt on lift that flexs ok. allows you to keep your stock steering. which isnt a good idea, but it keeps things cheap.

if i remember correctly, trail gear springs require new mounts on the frame. and they move the front axle forward so you'll need to go high steer

no trail gear springs they break.........

..
.n x2 on procomps..........
they are the only ones i havent broken........ i can be a lil hard on my junk....
.

.
.
.the push pull will work for steering until it fails in the worst possible spot....

i tried stock......it doesnt work..even.on 33s..if its gonna get wheeled
I. kept bending center link
then one day while rippin along the ball on the push/pull part popped off
and i rolled the truck.. went histeeer never had a problem...
only fab is welds on the box support on the frame.......

worth the$$$$$$ best mod to the truck next to lockers n lowgearing.

..
.
.
my 2 pennys.......
