So heres what happens when you plow with chains on all 4 wheels with a dana 44 up front. I would have avoided all this and maybe replaced just a u joint if I was paying more attention. Plus I learned LAST winter to winch myself out rather try to get unstuck jimmying back and forth with chains! Going to pull diff guts and then I'll round up all the pieces for a pic lol

So re and re'd the 4 spider gears and thrust washers from another dana 44 diff I had. Plus used the other diff cover since mine had a good ding on the inside. Put it all back together and back to plowin' snow. Going to pay better attention to my u-joints wearing and try to avoid using chains on front ;)

Yah maybe only chain up if I'm going straight ahead, then again keep the chains to the rear diff only(big f\f 14 bolt) I just filled up box with cinder blocks for more rear traction ;)

Still wondering what exactly happened to see pinion gears lose half there teeth.... passenger right u-joint got toasted at same time and front drivers side drive flange bolts all got sheared at same time. I had truck stuck and was trying to jimmy it back and forth....
