Hey went out wheeling and my tranny started pissing out fluid right behind the bell house is what it looked like. I know nothing about trannies can anyone help.? It looks like its just a seal, still drove it home from the mountain with minimal leaking .

drain trans, drop trans, re and re the seal. may aswell do the trans filter while its out. put it back in. not too bad if ya have a hoist or atleast a shop. ive done it in gravel driveway, will never do that again.

Not it sounds like an input seal about $12.00 but you have to pull the trans out of the truck to do it :(

its alot of fucking grunt work. im gonna send mine to the shop, i fucking hate wrestling trans and t-case on roller jacks. but the a4ld in your sploder is quite a bit lighter than the e40d.

If I was you I would seriousley concider a 5 speed swap , the a4ld trannys are garbage , you can usually do a 5 speed conversion for cheaper than a rebuild , I've owed rangers , explorers and b2 since I was 15 and have done quite a few 5 speed conversions on them

Just my 2 cents

listen to this guy

if your going to be wheelin this truck, then you will be better off swapping a 5 speed in.

ive had rangers and exploders with 5 speeds and autos and the autos are garbage for wheeling

Just a normal rebuild could bite you in the ass down the road if it gets wheeled . A shift kit and big cooler a good start , look around , ranger station could help , before the cash starts flowing .
