Going into my 2000 Tacoma. not sure what setup people use to back up the engine with. Going to solid axle approx a year later, hope to do this swap in the spring. Thanks for any info on the swap/links.

NWF makes and adapter plate uses the auto bell from 1uz and mates it to the R150 series trans .

Ok ill check it out, reading a thread on fourwheelfourm, the guy is using a w59 trans. but with a good exhaust I expect to be over 300hp, I think I want to use something a little bigger. maybe a richmond 6 speed out of a dodge? no adapters on the Advanced adapters website, have to fab something myself I guess

Richmond is a aftermarket trans dodge uses new venture trans as does gm
Not shure what trans supras run but they put up with way more than 300 horse
3to 4 times that
So don't try to reinvent the wheel
It will wind up costing way more than you think
It's a swap that has been done so follow what they did
It will save you tons of grief
Just my 2cents

hmm. I might just go with a ls1/gm drivetrain, its seems like more trouble and $$$ than its worth to do the 1uz. Or leave my yota a 4 banger and build another 3/4 t chev

The average time frame to rebuild a 3.4 seems to be around 2 yrs :D

I got the bell housing for the r150 Trans available from Thailand I believe. Got it locally though, can't vouch for reliable shipping. Have their stuff on ebay. From what people tell me besides having to trim it about an inch to fine tune the clutch slave, it works fine.
