Figured i might as well start a build thread, been picking away at this things for about 2 months now just been to lazy to start a thread lol.

-93 exploder 4.0l/5speed(did this when i bought the truck about 5 years ago)
-xj hp d30
-5.5" re xj coils
-custom dom 3 link with johny joints at frame end of lowers
-exploder disc brake 8.8
-gonna run 4:10's to start cuz there cheap lol and prob 33's
-chebby 63"s with bottom leaf removed and bds add a leaf
-new cab mounts
-thicker exploder rad
-think im gonna do a custom dom steering with heims as tre's
-gonna modify the stock xj track bar with some dome and a heim at the frame end

Thats all i can think of for now, ill post some pics in the next couple of days, none of them will upload at the moment.

Haven't done a single thing to mine and u know how I drive lol budget build only running 33s I see no worries just carry spare axles lol they seem to be a dime a dozen for em just don't lock it

FknMrk beats his on 37s we all no that's cause he's FknMrk lol

Im not using a d30 to gain strength. I chose the 30 because it was free, and it will flex a hell of a lot better than the ttb. A 44 would be overkill for me, for what im after and the amount of money and time i want to spend on it the 30 will be just fine.

wasnt really a strength thing
wanted to get away from the unit bearings
and get it so it was servicable and have locking hubs
it would probably still have the 30 under it
but buddy got a killer deal on a built 9 inch and the 44
looks like you have a pretty good start

I already ordered 6' of 2" .250 wall DOM for the lowers, I'm gonna use a piece of that stuff for my truss and my 3rd link tho. The piece I'm using was jordons tho, think its 1 5/8" outer diameter.

The only reason i used the jeep coil retainers was becuase i had a whole cherokee sitting right beside my shop that was just gonna get scrapped. It was a hell of alot cheaper to cut the jeep ones off then to make them which was my original plan.

not likely ... i probably won't look at this thread again ... [16]

I just used a small exuahst clamp and have never poped a coil out

The whole point of the way im doing it is so the coil can fall out of the the upper retainer to give my axle more droop, the jeep coils are different then fords the top rung is allot narrower. On my bronco 2 i had hose clamps to hold th coils from popping out lol.

4skin
11-15-2012, 10:40 AM
Some times uncontrolled droop can be a bad thing
Side hilling at the tip point nice to have the spring holding the diff to the truck
Than having a couple inches of free play till the shock stops it abruptly

skyjacker
11-15-2012, 10:55 AM
You could use a limiting strap so the shocks don't bottom out but still allow the coil to drop out of the bucket

Ya I could have done that but these ones are perfect length and I'm not gonna touch braided for $10 a pc, if I start breaking them left right and center I prob switch to braided, I've wheeled it in my backyard quite a bit now and I don't think its gonna be a problem.

Ya man you should have, its a super easy swap. When I finish everything on this one in a couple years I plan on building an 89-90 b2, prob use 4.5 or 3.5" coils for that one. Also gonna do a tie rod flip steering setup with the yj steering and inverted shock setup in the back similar to skyjackers ranger, gonna use my fox 2.0 resys in the rear they came out of the dodge cuz they need new seals.

thanks mang:D , hopefully soon it will have bumpers/winch and sliders, front bumper rubs tires and is annoying as fck lol and the rear one i keep hooking on shit and bending it out and then i have to take the sledge hammer to it to bend it back
