From what I have heard, the roofers doing the torch on lit a house on fire and they had no extinguishers on site and no water services hooked up yet, so it lit the one house up, then it spread to 4 other houses, the superintendent said it all 4 houses were lit on fire and burnt to the ground in under 40 minutes, that's how fast it happened, the 3rd pic down, u see the concrete has chunks taken off it, it was so hot that the concrete was exploding off the foundations, so they have to pull the foundations out as well, I was standing on a slab and was chipping huge chunks off it with my boot cause it was so brittle, prolly close to 3,000,000 dollars in damages, all cause someone didn't bring the correct safety equipment with them to a job,

Holy fuck well more work for you i guess cause they need all new foundations. You'd think those roofers could almost face charges that's pretty much deliberate arson if your too stupid to work with fire all day and not carry fire extinguishers

Im framing condos at 224 and 124th and we saw the fire the other day. I was working on a wall facing up the hill and it went from nothing to an absolutely huge plume of smoke in less than 2 minutes. By the time all the fire trucks flew by (like LOTS of them) we knew whatever went up was a goner. I couldnt believe how much heat was coming off the fire, the plume of smoke was just boiling and moving up very fast.
Shame on the roofers for not having water and extinguishers handy, that is rule one BEFORE ever lighting a torch. Shitty thing is most roofers only carry the minimum 1 million insurance, hopefully they had more, and really good no one got hurt.
