I bought an aftermarket regulator with my new rebuilt 24 volt alternator for my 79 toyota landcruiser. I'm not sure how to hook it up. Its a P8-393. Heres a similar pic of it:

I'm wondering if I just:

1. Attach green field wire from new regulator directly to green wire that is in green plug coming from alternator.

2. Then run orange wire from new reg to hot ignition switch wire (hot when key "on".)

3. And then black wire directly from ground on battery to new regulator housing.

Then wiring at old regulator location and plug that would normally come plug into alternator plug just tape up. Please let me know what you think.

Always broke
