Did some one say falconry???? ;)

Nice Goshawk, Harris Hawk, and Peregrine! fly a Red-tailed Hawk right now at work and I also fly a Peregrine Falcon once and a while.

Any questions, just ask... my boss is a falconer. He's teaching me :D

Yep, that's exactly what falconry is. It's a lot of work and it ain't cheap either. The type of bird you work with depends on what you want to hunt. If you are looking to hunt mainly birds like ducks, geese, quail, and pheasant, you'll wanna work with a peregrine falcon or gyrfalcon (or gyr-peregrine cross). You could even use a northern goshawk (they're wicked flyers in dense forests). If you're looking to hunt mammals like hare, red-tailed and harris hawks are the way to go.

I think the coolest is the "combo-wombo" (that's what I call it). It's when you use a hunting dog to flush out the quarry (the bird or hare) and you send off the hawk or falcon to catch it. When the prey is caught, they share the tidbits you guve them (usually the organs).
